Here are three social media conferences that I plan on attending in November, and they are all in Orlando, Florida. You should join me! All of these events are built for a wide variety of attendees. If you are a business owner, entrepreneur, PR/Marketing professional, or just someone who wants to learn more about the role of social media and business, you should try to attend these events!
What: The B.I.G. (Business Innovation Growth) Summit
Description: Targetting entrepreneurs (but relevant to all businesses), the Orlando Regional Chamber’s BIG Summit has a host of industry speakers to talk about the “New Normal” of doing business in today’s fast-paced world of Twitter, FaceBook and LinkedIn. But the highlight for social media philes is no doubt Keynoter Tony Hsieh, CEO of Zappos, the poster child company of Social Media, who will talk about how he grew the company into a billion dollar business, using excellence in customer service and word of mouth.

The Orlando Chamber of Commerce always puts on great events, and this one looks like a “must attend” for any local business owner in the Orlando, Florida area.
Social Media for Business Conference ’09
Description: Organized by Latism.org, the largest Hispanic organization of social media professionals and Nancy Perez of Social Media Success, the event aims to bring together tech-savvy social media professionals and includes social media expert speakers, panel discussions and networking. Topics include social media strategies, blogging and social media basics to emerging case studies. It also includes an awards ceremony.

Planning Meeting for Social Media Club- Orlando Chapter
Description: Started in March 2006, Social Media Club (SMC) was founded by Chris Heuer and Kristie Wells in San Francisco to encourage social media literacy, share lessons, encourage adoptions of industry standards and promote ethical practices. As of July 2009 there are over 72 active chapters in ninecountries and 95 in the process of forming. This is only the second meeting of the Orlando chapter, and I missed the first one! I definitely plan on attending this, because I’ve been looking for a group to join that is serious about starting SMC in Orlando. Get updates by following @SMCOrlando on Twitter.
